What is an everyday Carry prayer? EDC, for those of you not familiar with the phrase, means Everyday Carry. Essentially, it’s a phrase or a tag associated with people discussing/showing what they deem important to carry every day in their pockets or backpacks. These are essential for survival. Here are Ten EDC prayers for when you feel overwhelmed.

“God, hear my cry; pay attention to my prayer. I call to you from the ends of the earth when my heart is without strength. Lead me to a rock that is high above me, for you have been a refuge for me, a strong tower in the face of the enemy. I will dwell in your tent forever and take refuge under the shelter of your wings.” Psalm 61:1-4

Lord, thank you for being my strong tower and refuge. My heart is without strength, lead me. I trust you. Thank you for seeing and knowing my heart. I need your shelter. I need your strength. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable—if there is any moral excellence and if there is anything praiseworthy—dwell on these things.” Philippians 4:8

Lord, you are praiseworthy and in control. You are true, honorable, just, pure, lovely and commendable. Help me to dwell on you. Lord help me dwell on the fact that you, the Creator of the universe, see me and know my name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“Therefore, don’t worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:34

Lord, I am worried. Forgive me for my worry. Help me see today as a day that you have made and help me to rejoice in it. Help me to not waste today by focusing on tomorrow. Lord I pray for my heart to rest in you and you alone. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” Psalm 119:105

Lord, I need you. I need your word. I need your guidance. Help me to see that you are lighting my path. I trust you and know that you have what’s best for me. I’m praying for you to guide my path today and forever. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“For I am the Lord your God, who holds your right hand, who says to you, ‘Do not fear, I will help you.’” Isaiah 41:13

Lord, I open my right hand right now and ask for you to hold it. I want to hear your voice. Help me to hold on to your words, “Do not fear.” Thank you that even when I’m afraid you promise to be near and help me. Help me lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. I will be with you, just as I was with Moses. I will not leave you or abandon you.” Joshua 1:5

Lord, thank you for being with me. You will not leave me. You will not abandon me. You will stand against my enemies. Help me to remember the times in my past when you were there for me so I can stand firm today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“Let us not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up.” Galatians 6:9

Lord, I am tired. I need energy and strength to keep doing good. I will not give up. I will not give in. Help me to fight when I’m tired. I will not give up. I will not give in. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Hebrews 13:8

Lord, you never change. Yesterday, today, and forever you never change. Forgive me for when I change. Help me focus on you today and forever. You are the same, you are faithful and true. I want to place you on the throne of my heart today! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“And every proud thing that is raised up against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to obey Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:5

Lord, help me to hear your voice. I pray against the enemy’s attacks in my mind. Help me to focus my thoughts on you. Guide me to take negative thoughts captive to obey you today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“He will not fear bad news; his heart is confident, trusting in the Lord.” Psalm 114:7

Lord, I trust you. I trust you. I trust you. I will not fear bad news because I trust you. My heart is confident because I trust you. Lord, I trust you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
